    Description

    Mid Century Modern Large Burwood Peacock Rare Original Head Dress. Condition is "Used". The measurements are 34 1/2" tall and 29 1/2" wide.  This is a very old piece I believe from the 1950's / 1960's era.  It seems that the paint typically wears on the edges of the blue-green painted feathers.  If you look at others, most have either been completely re-painted or the gold is left faded light/white. I decided to touch up the faded edges with a gold sharpie permanent marker.  I didn't  like the solid gold look so I went over the gold with strokes of brown sharpie permanent marker, like feather strokes.  I like the look better, it blends in nicely and allows most of the paint to remain in original condition with a darkened patina.  I took many close-ups so you can get a good look.  However, if desired, you can also spray paint it in any decorator color desired.  I happen to like the vintage look.  It is rare to see the original head piece In tact.  I did get this piece from a house with smokers. In the 50's 60's smoking was common.  I've cleaned the piece but can't guarantee there is no residue of smoke.This item is for pick up only in Secaucus, NJ. Because this item have been around for 60 years, it would be a shame to have it break in shipping. pick up only.
